What I found hilarious is that someone has made a group about leaving Facebook on Facebook! It's along the lines of 'If Facebook Starts Charging Us To Use It- We're Leaving!'
People are so ignorant about the costs though. It must cost $1000s a year to maintain Facebook because it is SO huge. Where do people think they get the money from? Ofcourse they have to get it from advertising. They add adverts to the site (which aren't even intrusive) and people complain about them. If Facebook get rid of the ads, they'll have to get money another way.
Since when were Facebook going to start charging anyway?! :S
Yeah tell me about it, it's the same sort of kids who complain about Google because it sells information about internet usage to other companies - well where the hell were they going to get their money from since virtually everything they offer is 100% free? And don't get me started on this "Streetview" malarky... God people just love to complain about nothing.[/hypocrisy]
They're not, as far as I've heard. I think someone's just got it in their head that they might. I think they're making tons off adverts right now so they're OK. If facebook decide to sell all the information we've put up, we'd be screwed. But at the same time people have to resume SOME responsibility. No one is making us use Google, no one is making us use Facebook, or indeed put any information up there. Just because there's the option to do so doesn't mean we have to. But yes, people are quick to place blame and complain! But that's just part of human nature!
